What We Do
Everything we do has just one goal: the sustained well-being of smallholder households, especially the most vulnerable. Our transformational development approach is holistic-instead of focusing on a single issue, we look at all the interconnected areas that affect the well-being of smallholder households in a community. We work with families, Partners and communities to address complex challenges, ensuring that the livelihoods of our programme participants are improved
Sustainable Agriculture
Uganda being an agricultural based country, SARD-Net members across the country believe in a farming system that is based on processes that strive to meet the needs necessary for an integrated, happy life of those depending on the farm for their livelihoods by mainstreaming sustainable development of the available human, physical, financial, social and natural capital resources.
Environmental Sustainability
The achievement of Sustainable Development Goals requires that the earth’s natural resources are wisely utilized, conserved and sustained over time. Sustainable natural resource management is already a great challenge because of multiple pressures on resources that result from population growth, urbanization, industrialization and increasing and changing consumption patterns.
Research & Advocacy
SARD-Net’s Development Process is through Participatory Action Research (PAR) where communities are engaged in effective participatory identification of development issues, problems, alternative solutions, monitoring and evaluation, reporting of development initiatives and writing and sharing their history of change or development.
